Reiki: Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy

Introduction

Rei -Means:- Universal, Spiritual, Godly, Cosmic.

Kei -Means:- Energy, Vital Force, Prana, Urja.

Reiki means:- Universal Life Force Energy

Reiki (pronounced ray - key) is a hands-on healing technique which is thousands of years old. It is thought to have originated as a Tibetan Buddhist practice that was rediscovered in the late 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist. It is a very simple yet powerful technique that can be easily learnt by anyone.

Dr. Usui dedicated his life to the teaching of ancient Truth and without his disciplined perseverance, we might not have the blessing of the Reiki Energy. Our lives are enriched from his labour of LOVE for humanity. He was totally dedicated to Reiki and today is a great inspiration to all Reiki Students.

Dr. Mikao Usui, a Buddhist monk, in the city of Kyoto, Japan, began a twenty-eight year research to rediscover how Lord Buddha had healed. Before Jesus, the Buddha had possessed the gift of healing through Divine Love and the human touch. The traditional Reiki story begins with Dr. Usui, but Reiki was ancient even then.

The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words - Rei and Ki - Rei is the upper Japanese Kanji character on the cover of this book, Ki is the lower character:-

Rei - Spiritual Wisdom

Research into the esoteric meaning of the Japanese Kanji character for Rei has given a much deeper understanding of this ideogram. The word 'Rei' as it is used in Reiki is more accurately interpreted to mean supernatural knowledge or spiritual consciousness. This is the wisdom that comes from God or the Higher Self. This is the God-Consciousness which is all knowing. It understands each person completely. It knows the cause of all problems and difficulties and knows what to do to heal them.

Ki - The Life Force

'Ki' means the same as Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit and Mana in Hawaiian. It has also been called, odicforce, orgone, and bioplasma. It has been given many other names by the various cultures that have been aware of it.

Ki is the life force. It is also called the vital life force or the universal life force. This is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. As long as something is alive, it has life force circulating through it and surrounding it; when it dies, the life force departs. If your life force is low, or if there is a restriction in its flow, you will be more vulnerable to illness. When it is high, and flowing freely, we are less likely to get sick. Life force plays an important role in everything we do. It animates the body and also is the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life.

Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy

It is the God-consciousness called 'Rei' that guides the life force called 'Ki' together, we call it Reiki. Therefore, Reiki can be defined as spiritually guided life force energy. This is a meaningful interpretation of the word Reiki. It more closely describes the experience most people have of it; Reiki guides itself with its own wisdom, and being unresponsive to the direction of the practitioner.

Reiki Attunement

Activation of All Energy Centres

(Seven Major Chakras, Tips and Palm Chakra)

Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught. It is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement process. This process opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras and creates a special link between the student and the Reiki source.

The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The attunement energies are channelled into the student through the Reiki Master. The process is guided by the Rei or God consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student. The attunement is also attended by Reiki guides and other spiritual beings who help implement the process. Many report having mystical experiences involving personal messages, healings, vision's and past life experiences.

The attunement can also increase psychic sensitivity. Some students report experiences involving; opening of the third eye, increased intuitive awareness, and other psychic abilities after receiving a Reiki attunement.

Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have Reiki for the remaining part of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy its channelling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increased psychic sensitivity, and a raised level of consciousness.

The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Therefore, a process of purification prior to the attunement is recommended to improve the benefit one receives.

Giving Reiki

After the attunement, all that is necessary for the practitioner to use Reiki is to place their hands on the person to be healed with the intention of healing. The Reiki energies will begin flowing automatically. Reiki has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. It is not necessary for the practitioner to direct the Reiki. In fact, Reiki has a mind of its own and cannot be directed by the practitioner. It will communicate with the client's Higher Self and use this information to decide where to go and what to do. The best results are achieved by simply remaining calm and relaxed and allowing Reiki to work.

Can Never Cause Harm

Because Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do any harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them. One should never worry about whether to give Reiki or not. It is always helpful.

In addition, because the practitioner does not direct the healing and does not decide what to work on, or what to heal, the practitioner is not in danger of taking on the karma of the client. Because the practitioner is not doing the healing, it is also much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the presence of God to clearly shine through.

Energy Is Never Depleted

Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki practitioner’s energies are never depleted. In fact, the Reiki consciousness considers both practitioner and client to be in need of healing, so both get treated. Because of this, giving a treatment always increases one's energy and leaves one surrounded with loving feelings of well-being.

Anyone Can Learn Reiki

The ability to learn Reiki is not dependent on intellectual capacity, nor does one have to be able to meditate. It does not take years of practice. It is simply passed on from the teacher to the student. As soon as it happens, one has and can do Reiki. Because of this, it is easily learned by anyone.

Reiki is a pure form of healing not dependent on individual talent or acquired ability. Because of this, the personality of the healer is less likely to cloud the significance of the experience. The feeling of being connected directly to God’s healing love and protection is clearly apparent.

Self-Treatment

In addition to using Reiki on others, you can also treat yourself. This is one of the wonderful advantages of Reiki. It works just as well on yourself as it does on others. Complete instruction is given in the Reiki training for self-treatment. The section on hand positions lists the steps necessary to give yourself a complete standard treatment.

Bipolar Nature of Reiki

Clairvoyant observation has indicated that Reiki is bipolar in nature. It is made up of both male and female healing energies. The male part comes from above. It is associated with the crown and higher chakras and is called Shiva in the Tantra system. The female part comes from below, is associated with the root Chakra and is called Shakti in the Tantra system. These two energies communicate with each other and decide how much of each polarity is needed so that when the energies leave the hands, they have the proper combination of male and female healing energies for the person being treated. It is interesting to note that when more than one person is working on a client, the Reiki communicates with all the practitioners involved giving some more of the male energy to channel and others more of the female energies so that the proper mix is maintained for the client.

How Does Reiki Heal?

We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.

The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

What can be Treated?

Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In its long history of use it has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury including serious problems like: multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer as well as skin problems, cuts, bruises, broken bones, headache, colds, flu, sore throat, sunburn, fatigue, insomnia, impotence, poor memory, lack of confidence, etc. It is always beneficial and works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits for both client and practitioner, including altered states of consciousness and spiritual experience.

If a client has a unhealthy condition, and wants to be treated with Reiki, it is recommended that they do so under the supervision of an enlightened medical doctor or other health care professionals. Reiki will improve the results of all medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress, and help create optimism.

Is Reiki a Religion?

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

Reiki is a system where the practitioner can do no harm and can make no mistakes
