Clinical Hypnotherapy: An Effective Therapeutic modality | Aasha Warriar

Hypnosis in itself is a science that works with the human mind and the level of control it can retain.

Clinical Hypnotherapy:

Hypnosis has constantly lived under the scrutiny and cloak of being “dangerous” and something “to keep away from”. However, hypnosis is a natural phenomenon and we experience this state at least twice a day. Simply speaking, it is the groggy state in the moments just before one falls asleep at night and just before one is totally awake in the morning.

In fact, whenever we experience an overload of information, for example being stuck in traffic with constant honking or staring at a moving picture screen steadily for a few minutes, we can easily slip into a quasi hypnotic state.

Hypnosis in itself is a science that works with the human mind and the level of control it can retain. Pure hypnosis is when someone forcibly takes away your mind control, leading to some unfortunate incidents that one hears in the news.

Clinical Hypnotherapy on the other hand, is one of the most effective therapeutic modalities and to undergo a session, the client must give his/her consent. Our mind controls our thoughts, emotions, energy and physical body. A thought is simply a thought, what makes it positive or negative is the emotion we associate with the thought. Once a feeling is generated, it filters down to our energy body or the aura and we experience either a high or low energy flow and eventually the physical body gets affected positively or negatively.

When the relation between our thoughts, emotions, energy and physical body is in balance, the person feels a state of “ease”, if however, the balance is disturbed at any level there is feeling “dis-ease”.

Clinical Hypnotherapy (CH) is an effective method which can be used to take the mind back to the point of origin of the dis-ease and begin the process of “healing” or restoring to the whole.

Should One Fear Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotherapy works by creating a hyper-suggestible state, wherein the practitioner helps your conscious mind to remain awake while the process is being conducted. The main aspect of the work is guided therapy directly with your sub-consious mind. Most importantly, CH practitioners cannot “make” you say or do anything without your consent. And, you can choose to stop the session whenever you wish.

How Does Hypnotherapy Help?
Allergies, anxiety, addictions, back pain, behavioural issues, concentration problems, depression, fears, headaches, insomnia, insecurities, indecisiveness, fear of public speaking, phobias, relationship issues, skin problems, sexual issues, trauma, worries, as well as unexplained aches and pains. All of these are known to begin with a thought, integrated approach to clinical hypnotherapy traces the thought to its origin and helps in correcting the same.

Our mind creates our beliefs through socio-economic-educational-religious (SEER) programming. These beliefs eventually run our lives. Most of our beliefs are useful for our existence, but some might have lost their significance, hence are redundant. Unwanted beliefs are usually the cause of our confusions, simply because they do not make logical sense anymore. The human mind, once programmed, continues on the same path until there is an active intervention to correct the anomaly.

The Thought - Body Approach:
Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Psychoanalysts, Psychiatrists and Hypnotherapists, all work with human thoughts and help to re-program /re-frame our belief systems, to make a difference in thinking thereby healing in that moment.
CH works in an integrated manner on all layers, bypassing cognitive defences, thereby speeding up the healing process and obtaining sustainable results.

How Can One Sustain The State Of Balance?
Empowerment techniques taught in the integrated approach ensure that even if the thought recurs, the client is in a position to respond instead of react and therefore maintain the state of balance.
