SUPTHASTA PADANGUSHTASANA –I- YOGA

TECHNIQUE:-

Lie down on your back on a soft mattress, keeping your arms a little below your shoulder level, palms facing the sky.      Inhaling take your right leg over to the left-hand side, trying to bring your right foot close to your left hand while the head is turned to the right hand side. Breathing out bring your right leg and head back to the centre.



Now take your left leg over to the left hand side in the same manner while inhaling deeply, head is turned to the right hand side exhaling bring your leg & head back to the centre.


This formulates one round of this exercise, in first week it should not exceed 5-7 rounds. This number should be increased up to 15-20 rounds in a span of 20 days.

This is one of the constituents of revised Jeevan Tatva Yog Sadhana. It brings flexibility to the spine, hip-joints and pelvic floor muscles and joints, besides taking good care of removing undesirable fat from your hips, thighs, waistline, double chin and arms.

It can also help in alleviating sciatica and backache of mild nature. It also enriches the blood circulation in the whole body and improves vision.

Also fights wrinkles on the neck and face.

PRECAUTION:-

The patients of backache, cervical spondylitis, neck pain and sciatica must not do this exercise without the personal supervision of a Yoga Guru.
