The trayodashi which falls on the
shukla paksha of Margashirsha month is known by the name of Ananga Trayodashi.
Observance of this vrata bestows women with a favourable destiny and enhances
love and prosperity in the family. Childless couples are blessed with children
by observing this vrata. Ananga Trayodashi which has a special mention in the
Bhavishya Purana can be observed both by men and women. This vrata which
commences from Margashirsha Shukla Trayodashi should be observed at least for
one year on the thirteenth day of shukla paksha of each month. This is the holy
day when Lord Shiva as a trinity form should be worshipped.
On the
occasion of Ananga Trayodashi, golden or silver idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess
Parvati in the ardhanarishwar swaroop should be made. White sandalwood and
white flowers should specially be offered to the divine power. It is said that
people reap the benefits of all the good deeds they have done in the past
incarnations in their present birth. By observing Ananga Trayodashi for one
year and performing the udyapan ceremony, not only is one free from all
economical issues but also is blessed with success, prosperity, good health and
a happy family life. In case it is not possible to observe all the rituals of
the entire year, one can just observe Ananga Trayodashi and seek the blessings
